In need of Small Business information to help you find your path and succeed?
If you are like most women, the answer is probably yes! Give me some small business information please... We can always use some new ideas and resources, especially if they come from someone that has the experience and knowledge about starting a new business. Notice: The best small business ideas usually come from within us, but people usually don’t have the skills to be able to build upon them. Why? The answer is because people don’t take the time to do a personal goal setting exercise.
Goal setting is a powerful, yet overlooked tool that you should have under your belt all the time; after all, how are you going to achieve a goal that you haven’t set yet. An Entrepreneur Coach will help you identify your goals and work towards it. Now, assuming that you have your personal goals clearly defined, and that you know for sure you want to start a business, even after reading 10 reasons why not to start a business, you still may have this question: Do I build my small business or do I buy an existing business? When most people think about starting a new business, they think about starting it from scratch, from developing their own idea and doing everything themselves; about having a unique product or service. The truth is that starting a business from scratch has a lot of challenges that not everyone is ready to overcome, especially own their own.
Starting a small business implies being able to deal with things like creating a customer base, marketing, hiring and managing employees, finances, and many other things; and the reality is that most people don’t have all these skills under their belt to be successful at doing it. However, this doesn’t mean that you couldn’t learn those skills, so don’t be discourage if starting a new business is what you really want.
Fortunately for those of you that don’t want to deal with all that, there are other options: You could buy an existing business, buy a franchise or buy a business opportunity. For more information about buying a business, click here In my practice, I’ve help women that want to own their own business, but aren’t exactly sure of what to do and how to do it, and it’s very rewarding for me to know that I will help you overcome this and many other roadblocks that you will encounter in your way to success. Now that you are clear on whether or not you are going to buy a business or start your own business, there are several considerations you should keep in mind: - Build your Power Team: Unless you are going to be a one woman shop, this is a great time to find yourself a CPA, Lawyer, Financial Advisor, Joint Venture Partners, etc. For more information about Building your Power Team click here.
- Choosing your niche market (if you are starting from scratch, otherwise you already may have this defined)
- Naming your business (if you are starting from scratch, otherwise you already may have this defined): Make sure you choose a name that appeals not only to you, but to the customers that you are trying to attract, Make sure it conveys loud and clear what you do, Don’t pick a confusing name. Basically, don’t overestimate the power of a good name.
- Choose the right business structure for you. There are many reasons to pick a business structure and make your business legal. You should ask a CPA and / or lawyer for some advice on this, depending on what your personal finances look like, part of the world where you will be operating, and what fits your personal situation the best.
- Writing a Business Plan: Most women that I’ve talked to, don’t think they need a real and written business plan in order to start a business, and the truth is that you DO NEED a business plan. And Why? Because, a good and well written business plan will serve as your business’s road map and secondly will attract investors. Don’t worry, it’s not as difficult as some people make you believe.
